💕 Hi! I'm Jamie. If you're new around here, I wanted to take a moment to properly introduce myself.
I'm the owner of Bougie Rouge Boutique, Bougie Rouge Studio, and the creator behind Bougie Rouge Jewelry.
I've been creating for as long as I can remember. Painting, drawing, sculpting, sewing... if it involves making something beautiful, chances are I've tried it. About five years ago, I started making jewelry as a form of self-care. That little hobby eventually turned into markets, and in 2022 my husband and I took a leap of faith and purchased a character home in downtown Edmonton. His business moved upstairs, and I transformed the main floor into what is now Bougie Rouge.
Since then, this journey has been full of wonderful highs and some really difficult lows.
Not long after opening, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Suddenly, spending long hours making jewelry wasn't something my hands could always do. It was heartbreaking, but it also helped me realize something important.
Bougie Rouge was never just about jewelry.
It was about creating a place where women could discover things that brought them joy. A place to feel confident. To wear more colour. To express themselves. To meet wonderful people. To leave feeling just a little brighter than when they arrived.
That realization led me to begin curating clothing and accessories. And let me tell you... learning fashion buying was humbling! 😂 I've made plenty of mistakes, had more sleepless nights than I'd like to admit, and I'm still learning every single season. But with every year, I become more confident in my vision and more certain about what Bougie Rouge stands for.
This boutique was built during a challenging time to own a small business, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
The relationships I've built here have become my joy in the boutique and studio.
