Today is a very special day here at R.A.M because we're celebrating this guy! It just so happens to be Mr. RAM's birthday!

My grandpa is one of the most selfless, hardworking, non-judgemental, and optimistic people I have ever met, and most importantly, he is known for bringing these traits front and centre to work with him everyday. As his granddaughter many may think that my praise for him is slightly bias. However, for those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Mr. RAM, I can assure you that, yes, the rumours are true - he is a man incredibly worthy of celebration.
Growing up with the Masur family name attached to me I constantly met people who asked "Does your family own RAM?" and, often, this question was followed up with a story either about how my grandpa had gone above and beyond for customers or sometimes it was just a comment about how much they enjoy knowing him. Even when I was living in Nova Scotia I still met people who raved about him...

When he isn't at work, and he most likely is, you can find Mr. RAM donating his time with the Salvation Army (come say hi if you see him ringing the bell this year!), working with the Kiwanis Club, or spending time with his massive family.

So if you happen to come into RAM today please wish this amazing man a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

So GE recently debuted two new premium finishes: Slate and black slate! We're currently stocked full of this new slate finish it's GORGEOUS and I'm sure even Bobby Berk would approve of any slate styled kitchen ;)

Without a world renowned interior stylist here I turned to my grandpa/Mr. RAM for his expertise between stainless and slate and his overwhelming preference is for the new-and-here-to-impress SLATE. Slate not only looks incredibly sleek and cool, it's also much easier to keep clean if you're running a busy household.

However, this is ultimately a matter of personal preference so I'm curious to know what you guys would prefer between the go-to stainless steel and the slate finish? Let us know which you'd rather see in your own kitchen...maybe even stop by to see how gorgeous this is in person & get a quote.

Do you know our story? It all started with a station wagon and that smiling chap in our profile picture!

R.A.M Appliances gets its name from our founder’s initials: Richard Arthur Masur, but most people call him Dick (and many of his employees call him Dad!)

Dick started R.A.M from the back of his station wagon shortly after moving to the Cowichan Valley from the Yukon in 1977, while raising three young boys. In 1978, the Masur family grew with the addition of one more and the business took off as well. With a shop, show room, and more technicians R.A.M was able to expand its services allowing us to offer the Cowichan Valley reliable and affordable service that we can all trust!

Today, R.A.M is still run and operated by Dick but now his three sons - Richard, Sam, and Greg, are also an integral part of daily operations. However, there are actually about 8 family members who all take part in making this local business one that is truly family-oriented!

*After naming the shop R.A.M it was later realized that Dick’s initials could also stand for Reliable Appliance Maintenance! Double Whammy!
