Ah, the irony! 💩💩💩

This is actually a great book by the way! Here’s a little about it:
Ensh*ttification: It’s not just you—the internet sucks now. It’s been ensh*ttified. That was no accident, and it’s not gonna fix itself. Here’s how we’ll disensh*ttify it so we can have a new, good internet.

In Ensh*ttification, Cory Doctorow shows us how this has come to pass: not from the iron laws of economics, or the great forces of history, but specific policy choices made by powerful people who ignored every warning about the consequences of those choices. These are choices that can be undone. Ensh*ttification is a Big Tech disassembly manual, a road map for the seizure of the means of computation. It is a diagnosis, and it is a cure.

Book Signing with Theresa Kishkan

Join us for the launch of Theresa Kishkan's book, The Art of Looking Back. It is a meditation on the male gaze, as she looks back on her earlier, sometimes troubling friendship with Victoria artist Jack Wilkinson and his paintings and writings inspired by her.

About the Author:
Theresa is an established writer who lives on the Sechelt Peninsula with her husband, poet John Pass. She has published 16 books and her work has been nominated for many awards, including the Hubert Evans Award and the Ethel Wilson Prize. Theresa’s essay collection Phantom Limb received the inaugural Readers’ Choice Award from the Creative Nonfiction Collective in 2008.

Did you love Finding Flora by Canadian author Elinor Florence? Now you can read Wildwood, fresh on the shelves here at Volume One. Historical fiction at its best- A single mother, an abandoned farmhouse, and an epic battle with the Northern wilderness.

…and Mel’s Mom Highly Recommends!
