Kristen is the co-author of several books with her sister. Her book, The Roosting Box, explores the lives of patients and staff at a military hospital in Toronto after the First World War. There is a series of books she calls Beatrix Potter for grownups, as well as a book for children, Me Among Them. All her books are available at the co-op. We are open everyday, 10-5:30. Tracy is one of our local authors. She’s co-authored two books with her sister Kristen DEN Hartog and has penned two books of her own. Her most recent book, The Birdman of Wylie Road, is currently a finalist of the Whistler Independent Book Award, https://independentbookawards.ca. Heidi makes jewellery. The metals she most often works are fine silver and sterling silver, with accents of gold, and enamel (enamelling is a process of fusing molten glass to metal). Many of her pieces are oxidized, a natural process of tarnishing which brings out a variety of colours, from gold, to purple or black. Come in for yourself and see her range of pieces. Karen has been part of the co-op for only a short time but she makes up for it by having lots of variety in what she creates. Karen, mainly,is a potter but her husband, Tim, polishes stones and together they make pendants. Karen and Tim also combine their talents to make table top zen gardens using a pottery base filled with sand and rocks. Karen even makes small tools to rake the sand. We are open everyday, 10-5:30. Trish makes stained glass sun catchers along with wall and table art. She also sells kits where you can make your own garden stone. Each kit includes cut glass pieces that you place in wet concrete before the concrete sets. These kits make a great activity for kids and adults alike. We are open everyday, 10-5:30.
