Our home town

Bay Tree is west of Spirit River, 12 km from the B.C. border. It is closer to Dawson Creek BC than it is to any Alberta town.
Bay Tree School was built in 1921. The post office opened in 1930, and a community hall was built in 1931. A UFA Co-op opened in 1949. Highway 49 was gravelled to the B.C. border in 1956. Bay Tree students began to take the bus to Bonanza in 1957. Junior Forest Warden training began in 1963.
