It's up, it's up, it's up!!! We now have a NEW BIKE RACK - thanks to Main Street Dartmouth Nova Scotia - Shops, Restaurants &...!!! HUZZAH!! Thank you VERY MUCH!!

Now we're easy to get to whether you walk, drive (lots of parking!), take the bus ( # 10 from Halifax, right to our door) AND bike!

Again, thank you very much for the bike rack donation, Main Street Dartmouth BID - we really do appreciate it!!

Lots and lots of new books! We're only a half-dozen boxes in, but so far lots of children's books, lots of art, some knitting books specifically (not sure about other crafts yet) and more! Will keep you posted as we continue to unpack!

Our card section has been finished! Huzzah! It is a little smaller than in the old store, but all the cards are together instead of in three sections on two levels. :)

There is a little of almost everything: an entire spin-rack just for birthday cards, but also encouragement/friendship, wedding/anniversary, new baby, sympathy, graduation cards - and *entire wall* just for French cards!

Wow, when you are in a routine, you can really miss what is outside of it. The Director of the Main Street Business Association just informed us there is NO DIRECT BUS ROUTE east of the NSCC campus (the NSCC campus, Cherry Brook, Hunter Park, etc.) to the Main Street Corridor, to Micmac Mall or Downtown Dartmouth - people in those communities have to take an incredibly long and inconvenient bus ride (at least 40+ minutes) to travel what a car can do in five minutes. That's insane - I really didn't understand it until I saw it marked out on a map.

Such a waste of time, energy, fuel and hard on those who have other issues such as health problems, traveling with kids, etc.

You can always tell the true book lovers - the ones who came in as soon as we were open so they could redeem their Christmas gift certificates! :D (One lucky customer had TWO given to him!)

(And it's very nice being someone's favourite destination!)

If you are trying to figure out when to get in between all your holiday visiting, we are open today (Saturday) from 10-6, Monday (New Year's Eve) until 2-ish (maybe 2.30), closed Tuesday (New Year's Day) and open again Wednesday with our regular hours (Mon-Sat, 10-6, Thursdays open until 9.00)

It's been fun here this morning - at least three people have come in on a mission to find something specific, purchased it, looked longingly around the store and wailed "But I can't stay, I have to go ... I still have to go here & there to finish my shopping" to which I responded "We're open until nine this evening, you can always come back!" and they left, very happy, & promising to return. :D

Hi Everyone! One last quick reminder we are open tonight (Friday) & Saturday until 9.00 pm. We will be open Monday, Christmas Eve, but the hours are a bit uncertain - probably at least until two, but no later than four. Thank you!
