Dartmouth Book Exchange is a bookstore located at 1187 Cole Harbour Road, just East of Forest Hills Parkway that sells quality used books and a collection of new books by local authors. Independently owned and operated by Amy McIsaac since 2000, we have over 2000 square feet of retail space to shop and browse. We mainly sell popular fiction, similar to what you might find at Chapters. In general,

the prices of our books are $5.00 each for a regular paperback (when you buy 3 or more). Trade Paperbacks (larger soft covers) and Hardcovers sell for between $8.00 and $10.00 each (generally). Most books are in very good to like-new condition. We have a large selection of Paranormal & Erotic Romance, Young Adult Fiction, Sci-Fi, and fantasy as well as Manga and Graphic Novels. We have a Children’s Room that contains over 2,000 books, including some French ones. These are but a few of the types of books we carry and all of our books are searchable in our database. We have some specialty tables such as Canada Reads, “Blind Date with a Book”, Book Club table, High Demand Table, & our Seasonal Table. The books on our specialty tables change regularly. Sometimes you’ll find an author spotlighted if their Birthday is around the corner or they are celebrating some other Milestone. We are constantly evolving to make a better shopping experience for our customers. The store also supports Local Authors and provides a “Space” for the community to meet not just Local Authors, but other community members with a similar interest in reading.

“Craft shows can be dangerous.”
- Barbara Emodi, Crafting a Knockoff

Valerie Rankin, manager of the Gasper’s Cove Crafter’s Co-op, is ready for a successful Spring Craft Show, until the lights go out, she falls down the stairs, and a pushy entrepreneur won’t leave her alone. Murray Nunn claims he’s there to help local businesses grow, but when Valerie rejects his export scheme, he drops dead at her feet, on camera. With suspects ranging from local artisans to international opportunists, and her boyfriend’s nephew in the mix, Valerie must unravel secrets, schemes, and strained romances to uncover the truth.

Family secrets, a ghost from the past, and new love will draw readers into this compelling story, first in the Jewell Cove series by NYT Bestselling Author, Donna Alward.

Abby Foster arrives in Jewell Cove to take possession of the family mansion she’s inherited from a relative she never knew existed. Her plan is to refurbish it, put it on the market, and head back to Nova Scotia. But the house—and the secrets within it—catch her in its spell. Before long she’s drawn into the close-knit small town and falling for her sexy contractor, Tom Arseneault. Leaving isn’t going to be as simple as she hoped.

Tom’s got his secluded cottage where he can nurse his grief and broken heart in private. But when Abby arrives in town, the restoration job at Blackberry Hill is too tempting to resist, much like its owner. Abby is opinionated, determined, and certainly does not need to be rescued. And while Tom isn’t looking for love, Abby is hard to resist.

Abby and Tom grow closer, and the house is restored to its former glory. Will Abby choose to stay and take a chance on a man still in love with another? Or will she leave her heritage—and heart—behind forever?
