🥖 In case you didn't already know... we carry Stoke organic sourdough bread from Kimberley! We receive it fresh Tuesdays and Fridays. For those who prefer/require a GF option, we also have Alkemē ancient grain sourdough bread, and bread from Invermere Bakery, which comes in every Tuesday.
Now the absolute best way to indulge in Stoke sourdough bread, is to make a super BOSS gourmet grilled cheese! (It really is the best bread ever for it.) The creation shown in the pictures is an artichoke, red onion, and gruyere cheese. Heat the pan with butter on medium (or medium low depending on the stove). I spread mayo on the insides, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Sprinkle a thin layer of cheese on the bottom slice of bread. (You can use cheddar in place of gruyere, or a combo of the two.) then layer thinly sliced red onions, more cheese (thin layer), sliced artichokes, and More Cheese (again, thin layer, for me there's such a thing as TOO much cheese, but you do you), then top with bread. The layering of the cheese helps everything stick together, so your sandwich won't fall apart. Grill in pan until bottom is golden brown, flip, and do the same on other side. If you really want to step it up a notch, enjoy dipped in a mix of our Parthena balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It's amazing! This sandwich is also great with a this layer of spinach and/or turkey slices.
