Probably one of the most Notorious Emperors of All Time! Nero!!
This is a Bronze As of Nero Dating to about 55-56 AD!
The Obverse reads: IMP/PP/NERO/CLAUD/CAESAR/AUG/GER/PM/TRP
Reverse:ARA PACIS in the exergue with SC to the sides of the Alter
Definitely a Cool Piece!

Keeping with the Colonial Canada theme of the day!
Pictured below are Blacksmith Tokens! During the early part of the 19th century, there was an extreme shortage of circulation coinage in Upper and lower Canada. So quite literally blacksmiths would make cheap imitations of standard coins of the time! Often these pieces were made to look worn and weathered in order to pass as genuine coinage. Voila! The blacksmith tokens!

We definitely see some interesting things here at Classic Coins and Banknotes!
Back in the good old days of New France the local Administration didn’t have the appropriate funds to issue payments to soldiers, merchants etc. So a simple solution was to issue promissory notes of debts owed on playing cards! This 7 of Hearts was issued in1673 about a transaction that took place! Interesting!!
