I got a call from the JazzYYC people asking if I could provide a good Hammond organ and Leslie tone cabinet for Delvon Lamar’s performance. I had a C-3 organ that we recently finished restoring and I also had a nice sounding 142 ready that I was able to run it through. I attended the second show and was thrilled to hear Delvon tickle the keys, the trio put on a really good show. Mike the bar owner even joined in with the sax on one song. Was so rewarding to see an instrument that I put love into be used to entertain and spread music and joy.

Myself and both my apprentice’s put lots of time into the repair and restoration of the organ, this project was part of their training. Now I have some good video’s to show them how their work turned out.

Thompson Organ Sales worked with the RCCO to help host a street level concert on Stephen Avenue in downtown Calgary. We used a beautiful three manual Allen organ that we had recently restored and connected it to its four external Allen speakers. The pipes in the picture are for display. We brought the pipe organ sound to the people and they loved it. The organists had great fun playing some of their favourites and many passerby’s stopped to listen take pics and record videos.

Come and visit our showroom to hear our beautiful digital organs. This room was custom designed with lively and vibrant acoustics so you can really hear the true clarity and warmth of the organ tones we are producing. Also as shown in the black panels on each side, there are two dedicated speaker chambers to house the many large high quality external Allen organ speakers. The three manual organ shown in this picture is an Allen organ with an independent ten channel external audio package that sounds absolutely magnificent in this space. Even if I recorded it for you, you still wouldn't truly get the spacial effect that is being created by this organ system which is heard and experienced when you are here.
