In just one month, Tomkins Park will transform into Calgary's favourite outdoor movie theatre for a weekend of free films under the stars.

We're counting down with a few of our favourite moments from last year's Cinema on 17th. From cozy blankets and popcorn to unforgettable performances and community coming together, it's a weekend we look forward to all year long.

🐾 Meet Rex, one of the newest Dogs of the Ave! ❤️

At just 3 months old, this handsome Black Labrador Retriever has already started working toward a very important job. Rex is currently in training to become a CNIB guide dog, learning the skills he'll one day use to help someone navigate the world with confidence.

For now, you'll find him exploring 17th Ave, meeting new people, practicing his manners, and soaking up all the experiences that come with puppyhood.

Good luck with your training, Rex. We know you're going to do amazing things. 🦮💛

(And yes... he's every bit as cute in person.)
