🚨🚨🚨 GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS!
Bad news first. With a very heavy (but extremely grateful) heart, I have to announce that as of July 1st, Sunday Shop will no longer be in operation. Times are tough, and uncertain, and as much as this decision was not one that anybody wants to make, it’s the most responsible decision that I can make right now.
Good news. With this considered, I really want to take this final month to CELEBRATE the accomplishments of this little shop over the past 5 years. The store opened as a passion project shortly into a global pandemic, and carried on into a rather challenging time economically and financially that many small businesses are feeling. I feel that that, in itself, is worth celebrating the success of. And we will. June 6th marks 5 years here in the shop in Victoria Park, a community that has been nothing but great to Sunday Shop.
So, for the month of June (and starting tomorrow, June 5th), we’ll be having a birthday sale that will carry over to a “So long, sale.” It will start off by offering 20% off almost everything in the store, and continue on from there. I sincerely feel that this store has accomplished too many things to be bummed about this, and this sale/month is purely about celebrating those things, it would be unfair not to!
So come by, say what’s up, buy some discounted plants, use your gift cards, and let’s enjoy the space while we still have it!
This shop has taught me many things, it’s been a wild ride through tough times and good times, and it’s something I will always be proud of/cherish. I was unbelievably fortunate to have it in the first place, and also extremely fortunate to have the staff and volunteers that I did, who dedicated and invested their time into it as if it was their own over the past 5 years. I thank them ALL for that sincerely and recognize that it wouldn’t be the shop it is today without them. Simple as that.
