So whoever lives in the Burin peninsula knows about pirates once roamed these waters hundreds of years ago. Well, now chards of “black” sea glass as it was called hence the name pirate glass are washing up on shore and makes amazing jewelry. I’ve even heard people say it would be mistaken for moldavite which is very rare.
In the picture are pieces of pirate glass I’ve collected. The picture on the right is what you see when light shows under it. 🌊

I was born in Ottawa and lived in Quebec and Ontario most of my life. My husband and I came on vacation here one year and fell in love with the people and the culture. We returned again the following year and toured the rest of the island. We felt the magic and mystery everywhere we went. Newfoundland is unlike any other place we’ve been to. It felt like coming home. In 2021 we retired and bought a home here in Burin and we’re absolutely loving it here.
My retirement passion is beachcombing. The ocean gifts me with so many treasures that it’s impossible not to collect things.
Driftwood, shells,seaglass,old bones,pottery,metal,amazing rocks,feathers etc. I’m out there in all kinds of weather. The locals call this mainlander a born again newfie haha.
Being a crafter for most of my life, I started making things for family and friends. Now it is my business. Should you purchase one of my creations know that each piece created encourages one to living in the moment with an abundance of joy and prosperity woven in. At least for those who are attracted to this kind of energy?
