A Quick Tariff Update for Our U.S. Customers — August 19

We wanted to share a quick update following our previous post.

Canada and the United States are still talking, and the new 50% tariffs have officially been postponed until Saturday, August 22, at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. We still don’t know what the final tariff rate will be, but we’re hopeful that the extra time will lead to a better outcome.

For now, the platform we use to process import duties has returned the tariff calculation to 15%. This allowed us to ship the completed orders we had placed on hold, and those packages should now be on their way!

Please keep in mind that the 15% rate has not yet been confirmed as final. Our website is also still showing a 50% import charge for new U.S. orders, so you may prefer to wait a little longer before placing an order while we wait for clearer information.

We’ll continue watching the situation closely and will keep everyone updated as soon as we know more.

Important Update for Our U.S. Customers

We want to share an important update regarding shipments from Canada to the United States.
A new 50% U.S. import tariff is now being applied to our products. In the past, Dusk Till Dawn Studio absorbed additional import costs whenever possible, but unfortunately, a charge of this size is something we cannot cover ourselves.
Customers with completed orders will be contacted directly and offered three options: receive a refund, have us safely hold the order while we wait for possible changes, or pay the applicable tariff so the shipment can be processed.
Discussions between Canadian and U.S. authorities are still ongoing, so the situation may change in the coming days. We will continue sharing updates as soon as reliable information becomes available.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and uncertainty this creates. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of our small Canadian business.

I’ve been testing RESIONE WW-ABS with this Mythic Legions 1.0 torso, and my first experience with it has been very positive.

WW-ABS is a water-washable, ABS-like resin designed to combine rigidity with improved toughness, impact resistance, and resistance to scratches and wear. It feels more like plastic than RESIONE WW-123 and is considerably tougher, making it especially interesting for miniatures and articulated figure prototypes.

It is also very easy to print. Because WW-ABS is slightly thicker than WW-123, it takes a little more effort to clean thoroughly—especially around deep details—but it is still easier to wash than many comparable water-washable resins I have tested from other brands. The supports were easy to remove, and the printed details remained clean and well defined.

This Mythic Legions 1.0 torso was printed on an ELEGOO Saturn 2 using Lychee Slicer’s default official profile:

Layer height: 0.05 mm
Normal exposure: 2.8 seconds
Bottom layers: 5
Bottom exposure: 25 seconds
Lift distance: 8 mm
Bottom lift speed: 65 mm/min
Normal lift speed: 120 mm/min
Retract speed: 180 mm/min
Wait before print: 1 second
Wait after print: 1 second
Wait after lift: 0.4 seconds
Light intensity: 100%

These are still preliminary results, so I’ll continue testing WW-ABS with smaller miniatures and more delicate parts to evaluate its strength, flexibility, and resistance. I look forward to sharing those results with you soon!

What do you do with all those extra Mythic Legions heads and weapons once your storage bins start overflowing?
We’re working on a fun way to get them out of the bins and onto the shelf where they belong! Let’s be honest—the Four Horsemen have given us some incredible head sculpts and weapons that are far too beautiful to remain hidden away.
This is only our first prototype. We’re already working on adding space for different types and sizes of weapons.
What would you add or change? We’d love to hear your ideas! 🙂
