Hi everyone,

August long has been a ton of fun (it is every year!) despite the smoke. Thanks to all our friends who have stopped by for a cone or three, a jacket, and everything else ☺️

I’m reluctant to post about this because it’ll probably upset some folks, but it’s hitting a point: we’ve recently had a rash of 10-14 year olds shoplifting and/or mess up toys, jewelry, and other items.

Several toys have been taken. Someone else literally took a bowl. We’ve had kids freely open boxes and bags of toys, which usually makes them unsellable.

We’ve watched them do it. Literally in full view. We’ve politely confronted some of them, only to have them claim it never happened. One threw a toy straight onto the ground in full view of me and his grandma.

We’re a small business, folks. We don’t just take a financial hit when this happens. It leaves the store feeling less secure. It leaves our employees frustrated.

Not calling anybody out here. And anyone who knows us knows we’re not people who go for being outraged. Just calling them (you know who you are) to try being better, more considerate people. We get it: it’s summer, you’re on holiday, life is fun, and it can be hard sometimes to feel like the rules still apply to you.

But with everything else going on, it’s on all of us to maintain community and kindness. We’ll be here, serving ice cream and everything else.
