AG Equipment Mechanic (Service Technician)
To fulfill KNM Sales & Service's vision "Where Service Comes First" we are looking for a Full-Time Service Technician to join our fast-past, energetic dealership located in Barrhead, AB

This Position will install: Performing basic diagnostics, service repairs & maintenance work on customer and/or Dealer owned Agricultural and turf equipment.
Under the direction of the service manager, this position will deliver quality service work, exceptional customer service and be a part of one of Canada's top Versatile, Cummins, McCormick, Kioti, Farm King, Vermeer, Salford, Kuhn plus other agricultural equipment dealer organizations.

Responsibilities
- Inspection, diagnosis, repair and service of agricultural equipment with a commitment to customer support and pride in workmanship
- Applying the use of specialized tools, cutting edge technology and innovative solution, to diagnose and complete complex repairs
- Performing preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards, on equipment and related components
- Maintaining current knowledge of Versatile, Cummins, McCormick, Kioti, Farm King, Vermeer, Salford, Kuhn agriculture products
-The ability to use diagnostic tools basic functions
- Participate in Ag equipment training and dealer-led training to further develop skills and technical capabilities requirements
- 5 Years of experience performing complex service repairs and maintenance
- Candidates ideally will possess a Journeyperson Agricultural Technician certification or equivalent in a mechanical field (i.e. Heavy Equipment, Automotive)
- We may consider a 3rd of 4th year Apprenticeship candidate.
- We will also consider a new Apprenticeship candidate.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Versatile, Cummins, McCormick, Kioti, Farm King, Vermeer, Salford, Kuhn agriculture products and competitive products are a definite asset!

Supervises: Technicians, Shop Foreman, Truck Driver, Set-Up/Pre-Delivery Staff, Service Clerk

Position Summary
The Service Manager oversees all Service Department operations to ensure excellent customer satisfaction, efficient workflow, safety compliance, and departmental profitability. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication, working closely with all dealership departments.

Key Responsibilities

Service Operations & Customer Satisfaction

· Schedule and assign service work to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion
· Communicate repair needs, timelines, and cost estimates clearly to customers
· Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
· Ensure all customer, internal, and warranty work orders are completed accurately and profitably

Leadership & Team Development
· Hire, train, mentor, and support service technicians and department staff
· Coordinate ongoing technical training and lead department meetings
· Monitor productivity, recovery rates, and employee performance
· Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

Financial, Facility & Compliance Oversight
· Prepare and manage the Service Department budget and control expenses
· Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop and yard
· Ensure equipment is properly serviced and ready for sale or demo
· Work closely with Parts and Sales to support efficient operations
· Ensure compliance with OH&S, WCB, WHMIS, and labour regulations

Qualifications & Skills
· Proven leadership and people-management experience
· Strong organizational, scheduling, and customer service skills
· Financial and budget management experience
· Ability to coach, motivate, and develop a diverse team
· Agricultural or heavy equipment service experience preferred
