The NY Times did a feature on my book "Nais-MYTH: Basketball's Stolen Legacy" today. In the book, my brother and I claim that James Naismith, then the editor of the YMCA Triangle Magazine, received the rules of a new game from a 16 year-old YMCA Director from Herkimer, New York, and published them as "Editor" not "Author" or "Inventor" of the basketball only to receive credit for inventing the game, something Naismith ran with and by the time the true inventor, Lambert Will, realized the sensation he had created in the new game it was too late, Naismith's 'myth' had been solidified. Will would claim until his death that he invented the game. The evidence is on his side and outlined in our book. A new edition of the book will be out tomorrow with new books arriving in the store next week.
