The ArtLoft Gallery & Gift Shop is volunteer run and sells handmade local treasures, with rotating 6-week themed shows.

The ArtLoft Gallery is volunteer run and sells handmade local treasures, with a rotating gallery themed show every 6 weeks. It was started in 2010 by the ABAS, a non-profit art society supporting art in Alert Bay.

Hello to All members and residents of Alert Bay. By mutual agreement the Alert Bay Artists Society Board has determined the Art Gallery will not reopen for this coming year

Reasons:

1) We anticipate a second wave of virus based on the words of Dr Bonny Henry

2) We have worked hard as a community to overcome our situation and we do not want to jeopardize this

3) We know of 7 sitters who cannot sit due to high risk homes and I am sure there will be more that will be hesitant

All have expressed relief with this decision and we are so glad that we are all on the same page. Let’s have a rest and look forward with hope to next year’s 2021 Artfest!!!

Excited for the 1st Annual Alert Bay Kismis Festival tomorrow night! The ArtLoft will be participating with a new show and tables set up for the month long Winter Market.... Be sure to drop in between 4:30-8:30! Huge shout out to Whe-la-la-u and everyone for making it happen!

Or, if you miss it, stop in during regular hours Friday-Sunday 11:30-3:30.... stay tuned for extra hours leading up to Xmas!

TONIGHT's Art Opening Reception POSTPONED! 🎨👩‍🎨 🍷🧀🎉🗓
The show is up, but instead of having an "opening" reception for this new show tonight, we have decided to celebrate it during the Kismis Festival on December 14th! So be sure to visit the ArtLoft the night of the downtown celebrations, December 14th from 4:30-8:30. We will have goodies and lots of local art and craft items for sale for christmas presents, secret santa gifts and stocking stuffers! But visit anytime before then for your shopping and viewing pleasure. :)
AND bonus: If you have anything you would like to add to the new "Anything Goes" show ~ please bring it to the ArtLoft during open hours, inventory it in, and we will add it to the walls before the 14th.
The theme is open... by "Anything Goes" we mean Anything Goes!! (within reason of course, lol) Get creative and have fun!
ALSO!! New items can be added to the WINTER MARKET any time!! We have a table set up and will add more as more inventory comes in. Stop by to check out what's in stock, or to add items in!

Sorry for any inconvenience (and the late notice), but we wanted to add an extra deadline to allow time for people to finish projects.... SO!

If you have anything to add to the new "Anything Goes" show ~ please bring it to the ArtLoft Sunday November 24th at 3:00pm (or make alternate arrangements).

CALL FOR ART: “Anything Goes” Group Show - ART DUE: Sunday November 10th, 3:pm
PLUS "Small Works" and Winter Market!
As the name suggests, completely open to interpretation!
Paintings, drawing, poetry, sculpture, anything goes!
Small Works and Winter Market pieces are encouraged to br dropped off on November 10th also, but may be added as time goes on, geared toward Christmas Shoppers.
