For the very first time, we got to take both kids into this hives this weekend. Honestly, it was short lived before they got sweaty and had meltdowns but it was sweet while it lasted 🤣

Got off work early and the weather was right yesterday so opened up a couple hives for a quick early season inspection. 😍 Hives are starting to build up with a couple frames of brood each, and some even have drone brood already. Forecast seems to be staying in the double digits which means Bee Season has Begun! 🐝

Bees are looking great coming out of winter with 100% survival. Boxes are booming and they are bringing in so much pollen today… I just love seeing all the different pollen colours coming in already and can’t wait for bee season 😍

Reflecting on 2025 as we enter the new year.

Our goal heading into 205 was balance and Im not sure we really achieved that 😅. But 2025 was good to us even if it was busy and stressful at times.

Some of our highlights from the year:
- we produced almost 3x as much honey as any previous year
- we entered winter with 7 strong hives and are optimistic they will all come out of winter healthy
- We attended our largest market ever
- We released a new fantasy line of beeswax candles that have been a huge hit.
- We survived our busiest honey season ever while both juggling full time jobs and 2 kiddos.

Looking to 2026:
-we will continue to try and find better balance between work, life and the apiary.

-we are hoping to start producing small number of nucs for sale in the spring

-we will be returning to all our markets from last year

-we have applied to a new market that we are SO EXCITED about (stay tuned)

-hoping to get our youngest into the hives this year. He just turned 2 so it’s debatable 🤣 but he loves bees and is so interested by them.

With our last market of the year only 1 DAY AWAY, I am so excited to release our “Fantasy” candle line! ⚔️ As many of you know, we are a very nerdy family over here, so this project has been dear to our hearts and so much fun.

You can find these new fantasy candles, as well as all our usual Christmas Candles at the Heritage Park Barn in Chilliwack at the this Friday Nov 14th through Sunday Nov 16!
