🤬🤬🤬🤬
About 6 or 7 years ago, I posted my very first Marketplace ad for a blanket using a title and description that | still use today. Since then, l have copied and pasted that same wording for every blanket I've listed, without any variation.
There are many talented makers on
Marketplace, which is wonderful and to be expected. However, I recently came across an ad that had the exact same title and a very similar description to mine. Given how specific the wording is, I knew it was highly unlikely that our ads would be so similar by coincidence.
I decided to reach out to the seller and politely ask why she had chosen to use wording that was so closely aligned with mine. I explained that, out of respect for both of our businesses and our customers, I felt it was important to address the situation. In my view, using another creator's content as your own is not only disrespectful but also unethical.
What made the situation even more surprising was discovering that she lives in the same city as I do - 2 kilometres away. My message was courteous and respectful, but unfortunately, the response I received was anything but.
She “claims” she used AI to create her ad! 🤷♀️
If purchasing from Marketplace please be mindful of who the creator is. 😁
