PUBLIC STATEMENT FROM JUN’S MEAT SHOP
To our valued customers, supporters, and the Belizean community,
We want to address the sudden closure of Jun’s Meat Shop at the Michael Finnegan Market. We are deeply disappointed and concerned by the decision taken by the Belize City Council, particularly because of the impact this situation has on our business, our employees, and most importantly, the customers who have supported us.
We understand that businesses have responsibilities and that regulations must be followed. However, we believe that enforcement should be handled fairly, transparently, and consistently. We are deeply concerned about the circumstances surrounding this closure and feel that our business deserves the opportunity to have these matters properly addressed rather than being abruptly shut down.
For years, Jun’s Meat Shop has worked hard to serve our customers and build a business through honest work and dedication. We are a SMALL BUSINESS NOT A CORPORATION with endless resources. A sudden closure has a very real impact on our ability to earn a living and continue serving the community.
Our customers deserve answers as well. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and uncertainty this has caused, especially to those who depend on us for their regular purchases.
At this time, we are seeking legal advice and exploring all appropriate legal avenues to challenge what we believe to be an unfair situation and to protect our rights and livelihood.
We are asking our customers and the wider public for your support, understanding, and solidarity during this difficult time. Please continue to share our story, speak up respectfully, and stand with us as we work to seek a fair resolution.
We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for fairness, transparency, and equal treatment under the law.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Jun’s Meat Shop, whether through a purchase, a kind message, a share, or simply standing with us. Your support means more than you know.
Jun’s Meat Shop
Serving our community. Standing for our livelihood. Seeking fairness.
