What a Perfect Saturday 🏝️ This is the first time we have visited the Bahamas since building the house that we could actually just relax in our home and enjoy family. Looking forward to the rest of our summer here.

Taking on only a few pieces at a time has really allowed me to slow down and enjoy the process of creating. When I was churning out orders I forgot why I had gotten into it in the first place- my love of watching something turn from a piece of wood to a piece of art 🖤

🦅 I came out of retirement to work on a project that I couldn’t turn down. While it was extremely difficult emotionally to work on, having this memorial in my office is so important. The company I work for, SaferWatch, was created after my CEO watched all the first responders racing to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that fateful day. He didn’t know what had happened but knew it was probably horrible. When he learned it was another mass shooting, him, like so many others thought “what can we do?”

So he developed SaferWatch to help bridge the gap between technology and public safety.

I am thankful to work for a company that does such important work even though it is so sad we live in a world where our product is so desperately needed.

⚓️ 𝚂𝙷𝙾𝙿 𝚄𝙿𝙳𝙰𝚃𝙴 ⚓️

After much thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close Due East Design Co. My heart just isn’t in it anymore, as I feel more like a production line instead of being on a creative journey. I hope that by taking a break, I will rediscover my inspiration to create again! For now I plan on focusing on my family and friends, my little slice of paradise in the Bahamas and continuing my job at SaferWatch.

SOLD 🇧🇸 Even though right now it looks like an empty lot, a dock and some weeds it is actually our dreams becoming reality! We can’t wait to create memories with family and friends over the years on our little piece of paradise!
