Happy World Art Day! SO thankful for a successful launch of ArtLucaya 2024! For "Show Me Ya Motion!" It seemed the planets aligned for me and because although there was no conscious interaction when we created our artworks, we realized that our concepts were connected, so we decided to collaborate with the installation and "Peace Quest" was born.
My contribution was inspired by Japanese furin bells. "Chime In" is a collection of unique ceramic garden wind chimes that I call Bahama Belles. "Chime In" is meant as a metaphorical reminder that any meaningful social movement begins on the individual level, and that we all have a role to play in improving community life. Most often, we are stirred into action by external forces, and our true power to make our communities - and our world - better, exists in our courage to "Chime In" on behalf of others in need.
Chantal's body of work explores the idea of motion through spreading peace - an internal intention - an opportunity to share that positive energy with art.
Her works: Imagine Peace, Feel Peace, Share Peace, Spread Peace and Celebrate Peace form a colourful journey.
Together, we agreed that the movement toward peace is something so many of us value, seek, and cherish. It is sometimes elusive but we must always believe it is attainable. As such, it is truly a quest. It begins within and requires stamina, hope, and vision. Peace Quest. We hope you get a chance to visit our installation in the Tanama gallery at ArtLucaya.
