How To Spot a Fake Argan Oil:

1. Check the ingredients.

Some commercial Argan oil are NOT pure argan oil. They are mixed with low quality oils (sunflower, olive oil etc) or sometimes contain dimethicone, and other chemical ingredients. Argan is an expensive oil. Only PURE argan oil can give you FULL benefits of real argan oil

2. The bottle.

Make sure that the bottles are not clear or plastic bottles. Both make the oil deteriorate. Dark glass is the only way to store this gold liquid. (Amber bottles, dark, ultraviolet protected glass bottle which is eco-friendly)

3. The price.

Argan Oil is very difficult to make. It takes hours of manual labour and that does not come free. So there is no such thing as cheap Argan Oil. Don’t waste your money if you’re not buying the authentic ones. If you are getting 60% off than the original ones, look for another place.

4. The scent.

The scent should be somehow “raw. green, nutty” or like “popcorn”. Be careful of Argan that smells too perfumed, floral, goat-like or nothing at all.

5. The consistency.

Argan Oil absorbs quickly and beautifully. Fake ones go through a lot of process. Raw Argan Oil has sediment settled at the bottom (when not in use and will turn semi solid when it is very cold). Oil is a bit cloudy and has some elements. This is virgin oil only means that oil didn’t go through heat and filtration system thus restorative properties aren’t ripped off.

6. The color.

Argan oil should be a golden-yellow colour when looked at through a clear glass.

7. What kind of seller should you trust.

Avoid purchasing oil from vendors who also sell spices, kohl, scented waters, soaps, dried herbs, etc. Vendors have to be transparent where they get their oils. Should tell you whether it’s cold pressed argan oil, toasted argan oil deodorized argan oil, hand-made or machine-made. Vendors will be willing to show warranty, certificate of authenticity and accepts credit cards or paypal payments as well.

8. Stick to name brands.

Do not buy from Ebay, Sulit or Amazon. There are some good deals to be found with no-name brands, but not only do you have the risk of counterfeits but also of no-name brands that have nothing to lose, so they dilute the Argan content or exaggerate the “purity”.

Terdapat beberapa jenis paraben dengan jenis yang biasa digunakan adalah: methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben and butylparaben. Paraben ini digunakan sebagai pengawet dalam produk penjagaan diri, makanan dan juga ubatan. Pengilang menggunakannya kerana ianya muda dan berkesan untuk membolehkan sesuatu produk mempunyai jangka hayat yang panjang.

Masalah dengan Paraben adalah terdapat kajian yang menunjukkan ianya adalah toksid dan ditemui di dalam darah pengguna pada tahap yang tinggi. Disebabkan paraben biasanya digunakan dalam kosmetik, wanita khususnya adalah yang berisiko tinggi terdedah kepada paraben.

Di sebalik pelbagai debat mengenai paraben, Perancis, Denmark dan beberapa Negara lain telah mengharamkan penggunaannya. Denmark mengharamkan penggunakan dua jenis paraben: propylparaben dan butylparaben di dalam produk kosmetik untuk penggunaan kanak-kanak di bawah umur 3 tahun sejak Disember 2010. Manakala pada tahun 2011, Perancis mengharamkan phthalates, alkylphenols dan parabens di dalam produk consumer dan professional.

Pada April 2014, European Commission telah mengubah regulasi kosmetik Kesatuan Eropah dan memasukkan lima paraben sebagai bahan yang TIDAK DIBENARKAN dalam produk kosmetik iaitu:

• isopropylparaben;
• isobutylparaben;
• phenylparaben;
• benzylparaben; dan
• pentylparaben.

Pengeluar produk kosmetik yang masih menggunakan paraben berkenaan hanya dibenarkan dijual sehingga 30 Oktober ini sahaja dan semua produk sama sekali tidak dibenarkan mengandungi paraben mulai 30 Julai 2015.

Kajian membuktikan terdapat paraben ditemui di dalam ketumbuhan payu dara selepas ujian biopsy dilakukan. Manakala satu kajian di UK pada 2004 mendapati 5 jenis paraben ditemui dlam ketumbuhan kanser dalam 19 daripada 20 wanita yang dibuang. Dalam satu kajian di Jepun, paraben juga didapati pendedahan kepada paraben khususnya butylparaben boleh engurangkan kandungan sperma dalam lelaki dan menyebabkan “feminization of boys.”

It is already part of of my skincare routine and now in my 2nd bottle. I am using it twice a day, mix it with my favourite moisturizer. A drop or two would be enough for each application so it can last for quite a long time.

This is one of the good product use for moisturise your skin/hair. Since I have an oily skin, so I just use it for my hair. After washing my hair & let it dry, then I apply the oil at my hair. It do moisturise my hair but it didn't leave any sticky feeling at your hand at all.

Words can't discribe how much I love this product! Probably the best product I got from mivva! It's not oily at all after i applying it on my face even thou it is oil! Definately will purchase this product after I finish the bottle!

It is hard to evenly spread this product in large areas like the arm or hair. When I use this on my hair it looks and feels oily. However, I do like to use it for my nails and small areas like elbows and knees. I think the droplet tube is very convenient.

I've always sworn by oils for my skin as it really does the job of hydrating and keeping it wrinkle-free, so I was really excited to try Argan Oil. I love this for the really dry spots - elbows, legs, upper arms and cuticles but find it a bit heavy for the face where I use it at night before bedtime.
