Congratulations to The Loren for their first literary weekend, curated by author and Broadway producer Brisa Carlton . We were excited to host Brisa at Long Story Short as part of the events, and she came to sign copies of her debut novel, “Last Call at the Savoy.”

It was a sunny day and the team from The Loren enjoyed shopping our curated shelves, hanging out on our patio, having a sip of 9 Parishes Swizzle, and strolling around Saint Gorgeous. Thank you to Megan from The Loren for including us and to Photographer Jessica for these incredible pictures.

Captured in West Africa, Moses McKissack became an enslaved craftsman in North Carolina and developed the trade his family would eventually become famous for.

Cheryl represents the fifth generation of the McKissack family's centuries-old business, the oldest minority and woman-owned professional design and construction firm in America.
