Broderipia iridescens (Broderip, 1834): a limpet-shaped Trochid... Never saw this one before. It is also hard to see... only a few millimeters large. Lives on intertidal rocks, this one is from China.
The shell is limpet-shaped, with oval outline and posterior apex. The margins are expanded. In profile it is very depressed, highest a little back of the middle, the slope from the apex upward short and concave, from the apex downward gently convex. The surface is lusterless, with scarcely visible growth striae. The shell is opaque-white, radiately striped with olive-bordered red lines, generally interrupted and forming a tessellated white and dark pattern. The apex is minute, recumbent, spiral, dextral. The inside of the shell is brilliantly iridescent, not showing the color pattern clearly except at the red-and-white spotted margins.

Nog 9x slapen en dan gaan we weer de auto vol laden... Neen niet met mooie meiden maar met mooie schelpen. We hopen veel vrienden en klanten te ontmoeten op de beurs van de KBVC in Edegem 16 en 17 Mei. Het belooft alvast een leuke beurs te worden : 420 meter aan tafels boemvol schelpen, competities shell of the show en 3 of a kind, familiezoektocht doorheen de zaal met veel prijzen voor de jonge verzamelaars, schelpenlabo met educatieve insteek, tentoonstellingen enz.... Just returned from the Theydon Bois shell show. In the first picture we were relaxing after a long journey with about 3 hours of delays and a detour through London in heavy traffic. The show itself was nice : meeting up with friends, talking about shells etc.... Now preparing for the Antwerp / Edegem shell show in 3 weeks time

We're back online.... Fortunately Mind of Media came to the rescue and made us a new website in 5 days. The site looks a bit different but all functionalities remained the same. Only the wishlist is not yet working but this will be resolved soon. Of course we did not stay idle during these 'websiteless' days and we prepared our new list and will also start uploading new shells.
