As a kid it took me a while to learn the difference between work and play🤷

I noticed many of us are doing something they don't really like to earn money, later spending their earnings on fun activiteits. There appears to be some sort of balance ⚖️

But in reality, the majority of your time (about 38 hours a week) you are doing things that are draining your energy, hoping to bring balance by doing "fun" activities in those rare "free" moments. Its a guaranteed recipe for unhappiness 😔

What I figured out is... there is - or should be - no difference between work and play. Both are just living.

It doesn't really matter exactly what the activity is you are doing, but the way you are connecting with your activity. Are you happy about it? Or do you feel there is - and shouldn't be any fun, because this is "working time"? ...

The difference simply lies in your perspective. And this is something you can change. If you feel there is resistance towards whatever (work?) you are doing, try letting that resistance go and start "playing" your "work".

And if that really feels like an impossible task, be sure that there is always, always the possibility of choosing another "working" activity, where you feel no resistance and just play😏

My last custom order in Maple wood and Padauk was another fire serpent 🐉 In contrast to what you might think, the wind doesn't exactly 'blow out' the bottom of a flute, so a flute with closed ending (like this one) is in fact possible.
However an open ending does add to overall quality of the sound (it lowers air pressure) so that's why I'm imitating the effect of an open ending here with the large holes in the neck of the dragon.

Last friday was the spectacular premiere of a new musical theater named "Testerep" in Ostende, near the Belgian coast 🎭🌊

This piece is vividly bringing the message of impermanence and how a small island was consumed by raising sea levels (based on an actual medieval event 😯)

It's both sad and hopeful to contemplate how history in a way might repeat itself in the coming century, unless we start taking care of the planet we live on, right now 🌍💛

And you guessed it, I was honored with the task of crafting flutes for this musical ensemble. It was an inspiring confluence of theatrale creativity. Forever grateful for this working together TG Vagevuur 🙏

Meet the new "Essential" flute. These flutes are the answer to my search for purity, returning back to the essence of the Native American flute 😌

They have the same professional tuning as my concert flutes, but only basic woodwork design (making them easy on your budget 💰) and of course they're also finished with 100% natural Prana flute wax! 👌🌱
