New spring window displays in collaboration with .bxl who will open their new vintage design objects store this Thursday around the corner of the shop.

The upcoming sunny days will activate the space by creating a play of light and colour through the use of iridescent paper. A tulle gradient blue & white curtain will blur the passerby’s view, leaving you guessing at what precious pieces we have in store, as you peak through the window, while offering us inside a bit of shade.

A humble nature morte painting composed of a Watermelon, a lemon and a walnut, from .bxl, hangs proudly on our wall. The sale of which will go to a Palestinian NGO.

Welcome in our shop to discover all that is new and simultaneously old, from Wed-Sat 11:00-18:00 & Sundays from 12:00-17:00

Light of my life !

It’s been 6 months since i first held you against my chest, after months of kicking in my belly. What a blessing it has been to have you as a part of my life & watch the seasons change as you grow up. From the magical moments of breastfeeding, to your first smiles, our strolls in the park, our nights snuggling with your bestie Leila 🐶, your first Christmas, your first flight, meeting your auntie who cycled all the way from Belgium to South Africa ! Meeting your great grand mother at 93. Your feet touching the beach and the ocean for the first time. Greeting all these strange and wonderful animals. All the precious family moments we spend together.

Now you’re already moving around on your belly, I know you’re going places! Excited to discover the world, handing out sweet smiles to strangers, your curiosity is so beautiful to witness. May your light continue to shine bright on everyone who has the fortune to meet you. You make your mommy so happy and proud. Your big brother Caetano is watching over you from heaven as your guardian angel.

“I got the keys of the castle!!” Juergen (Teller) kept shouting every 5 minutes.

recounts the BTS of her iconic photoshoot in the otherworldly castle of the Thurn und Taxis family shot by Juergen Teller for nr. 31

A 5 day dress up party where they were running around the castle, sometimes dressed, sometimes naked (depending how far away the dressing room was) & where roles were exchanged between model, make up artist and chef. The shop was inspired by 80s royalty punk fashion icon princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis, aka Princess TNT 🧨.

Belgian Supermodel talking about The behind the scenes of her second shoot with master Steven Meisel, for the Vogue Italia July 2000 issue.

“We need more pages!” Steven kept repeating to the team at Vogue “it’s just so good!”

They ended up filling 42 pages with this editorial, where Hannelore embodies a suburban L.A. housewife, caught in the repetitive tasks of the every day, which Hannelore executes with a seemingly blank expression. The vacant gaze of this immaculately dressed housewife creates an eerie atmosphere that leaves the viewer guessing at what exactly lurks underneath the surface.

Reminiscent of the work of Ed Ruscha, Cindy Sherman or Larry Sultan, this photoshoot is also one of my personal favourites of Hannelore’s career.

About the dream team involved in the shoot, Hannelore recalls: “we just kept inspiring one another. We really created a character”

Heterodoxa is pleased to announce “Hannelore’s Lemon Heels meet Lucy’s Lace Dress” a fashion archive encounter between supermodel and artist Lucy McKenzie

Come join us on the 5th of March to dive into the fashion archives of one of Belgium’s most iconic fashion models and discover Lucy’s love for fashion & its history manifested in her personal wardrobe, which includes an extensive collection of Veronique Branquinho pieces.

From Lucy’s turban collection to Hannelore’s Miu Miu pumps stolen from the backstage of the runway, this collection will be full of treasured pieces accompanied by anecdotes, archive references, gossip and past enactments.

For the opening, there will be a book signing by Hannelore of her recently published memoire “HK & ik” published by and we will host an informal talk between Hannelore and Lucy at 19:30 to discuss their wardrobe, Hannelore’s book & women working at intersections of fashion, art and design.

Drinks and wonderful clothes will be served.

No RSVP needed.
