🖤 In Memoriam: Abdullah Ibrahim (1934–2026)

Today, the jazz world has lost one of its greatest voices.
South African pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim leaves behind a remarkable musical legacy that spans more than six decades. Blending African musical traditions with jazz, gospel and classical influences, he created a sound that was instantly recognizable and deeply moving.
A fascinating fact: Abdullah Ibrahim was discovered by Duke Ellington in the early 1960s, who helped launch his international career. His composition Mannenberg later became an anthem of hope and resistance in South Africa.

Today, we remember a musician whose work transcended borders, cultures and generations.
Thank you for the music, the inspiration, and the legacy.
