The industry is on the way to come clean on compliance issues. Once, the heart of old Dhaka Hajaribagh is blamed for environmental hazards for decades for leather waste. After a long hue & cue, the Awami League-led government has been able to shift the tanneries to Savar industrial park. The most potential industry in Bangladesh after garment got a life line with this shifting. On the other hand many foreign brands are also in search of shifting their factories from China.
