On October 28, Meta will change your running ads for you.
Product browsing — the setting that opens an in-app product page between
your ad tap and your website — switches ON by default for existing
Facebook and Instagram ads, unless you opt out.
Meta's case: its own August test (~117,700 advertisers) showed about 3%
more conversions on average.
The fine print: that test design was never published. Media buyers are
pushing back on LinkedIn — a default-on change landing weeks before
Black Friday, with reporting that doesn't separate the Meta-generated
experience from your creative.
For Bangladeshi D2C brands, the stakes are specific. We sell on COD and
trust. A customer who taps your ad but never reaches your site never
sees your reviews, your story, your COD reassurance. Every extra step
between tap and checkout is leakage.
What I'm doing this week on my own campaigns:
1. Click the opt-out button in Meta's notice before October 28
2. After the 28th, check each ad's Advantage+ Creative → Destination settings
3. Check the default on every new ad I build
Founder to founder: when was the last time you audited your ad account's
default settings?
