This weekend we flooded due to a burst pipe in the ceiling outside in the corridor. The shop had 2 inches of water throughout the entire space. During my 9 years of owning a boutique, I have survived 4 floodings and 1 fire across two locations, and this last weekend I was ready to give up and throw in the towel. However, after lots of help and encouragement, we cleaned up and got the shop up and running for opening the next day. Navigating hardships builds resistance, and I have to keep reminding myself that every time we feel crushed by a hurdle, we emerge even stronger.
