I always have an obsession with one of my professional products & this month’s ✨OBSESSION✨ is the Biocellular Mask, specifically.
This is part of my Biocellular Facial where regenerative products & serums are used with a combination of cleansing & exfoliation.
But it’s the mask💖 for me 😌.

After I peel it off my clients, I swear the pores so much smaller & sometimes nonexistent with certain clients.

Meet Annemiek, the matcha queen herself! 🍵✨
She has been glowing with me for almost a full year through monthly facials, & her skin journey … was quite the journey 😅

We started strong with my signature Kristyl Facials & moved on to the BioRePeel “no peel” peel for that biostimulating boost — zero downtime, collagen kick, & instant brightness without the flaking drama. Mainly meant to tackle hyperpigmentation, flare-ups, & texture… but her skin kept throwing curveballs.

Emma has been doing my classic facials consistently for a few years. We decided to switch things up by introducing the Radiant MicroNeedling treatment using brightening & hydrating serum designed for MicroNeedling.

Nothing beats a client who’s at total ease during microneedling!
Her honest review: ‘Feels like an electric toothbrush…😆’ First session success. She left with glowing skin & zero fears of my MicroNeedles 💖

MicroNeedling sessions are not always completely painfree. It depends on depth, speed & type of micro needles used. Everyone’s experience is different but so far, I have never had to use numbing cream on any of my clients. That doesn’t mean the treatment isn’t working. I’m a strong believer that over-inflammatory treatments runs a risk of long term damage & many studies have now come out proving post traumatic inflammatory (extreme redness) on the skin does not yield as much benefit.

In fact, it can possibly trigger the wrong collagen (type 3 instead of type 1).

- Type 3 collagen is produced during the early stages of wound healing & repair, right after the inflammation phase triggered by microneedling. It’s more flexible and helps with initial tissue regeneration, essentially “fixing” the damage by forming a temporary scaffold to stabilize the area & promote quick recovery. Overuse or excessive inflammation can lead to an overproduction of disorganized type 3 collagen, which might contribute to scarring if not properly remodeled.
- Type 1 collagen is the mature form that develops later in the remodeling phase (often weeks to months after treatment). It’s stronger, more organized, & provides the structural support that thickens the dermis, leading to firmer, plumper skin with reduced wrinkles & improved overall volume. This is the “better” type for long-term plumping effects, as it replaces type 3 over time in healthy healing.
