The situation today 01.06.2020 to come to Medjugorje

https://covid19.fmoh.gov.ba/novost/139/fbih-u-protekla-24-sata-bez-novih-slucajeva-covid-19?fbclid=IwAR0x6XXLESlYA9f1sidFs16MS2IBrTdPIDOhJFnRlg-hiG5Hd8xwL3-QUe8

Ministry of Health of the BiH Federation, said that today there are no new cases. For now 101 people are still with the virus, 39 in total.
Every few days new cases are found in northern Bosnia, in Tesanj, in the canton of Zenica.

https://www.covid-19.ba

In the canton of Mostar, where Medjugorje is located, there are only two active cases, and for many days there have been no new cases. In the municipality of Citluk, the capital of Medjugorje, now and more than a month without new cases. In the canton next door, ZHZ there have been no new cases for more than a month, and there is no one who is positive. The government has announced that they will soon proclaim the end of the pandemic, probably next week.

By now everything works as before. All shops are open (even in shopping centers) and also most restaurants. Some do not open because there are no pilgrims, but they are all ready to open. For some days, hotels, swimming pools and spas have also been open. Discos are also open in Mostar. We still recommend keeping your distance, and wearing masks in closed spaces but not outdoors.

The real problem is how to get there.
From today all Croatian, Serbian and Montenegrin citizens can come without explanations, without quarantine and without the test. For other foreigners it takes the certificate that you come for work or some other valid reason. For tourism or pilgrimage you still cannot enter the country.

But there is good news.

Sarajevo Airport, Banjaluka and Tuzla are open from today. Flights are few, but they begin. It will still take 2 weeks, but many airlines have announced flights to Bosnia, such as Austrian Airways, Lufthansa, Turkish airlines, ... Tickets can already be purchased on their websites

To come with the car, for now you can not. Croatia has opened its borders to several European states, but not to Ireland ,Uk or USA. And as I wrote earlier, foreigners cannot come to BiH, only from neighboring countries.

Can you come to Medjugorje? How is the situation with the virus?

Bosnia will open borders at the end of the month. For now there are only a few who can enter, residents and foreigners who have residency. Sarajevo airport has announced opening for June 1st. Already some companies sell tickets to Sarajevo. We still don't know what the procedure for entering will be, but I am sure they will do as the rest of Europe does.

Since this week, Croatia has opened all borders, so that people who want to come to Medjugorje by car, don't have to go to solitary confinement and don't have to do any tests to see if they are sick. Slovenia said this morning there is no more epidemic from them, so even passing through Slovenia is simple.

In the Medjugorje area, there are no new cases since April 23. Almost everything is open, bars, restaurants, shops. In the area next door, although they always had masses every day with at least 100 people per mass, not a single virus case was recorded. Mostar, on the other hand, has not had the new cases for more than 10 days. Some cases are still in the north of BiH, but always few. Montenegro and Croatia have very few new cases, no more than 10 per day.

Most airlines have flights to Croatia and Bosnia on their sites. This morning I also saw that Snav, which has connections from Ancona to Split, has very low prices. Less than 20 euros one way.Even Flixbus buses have been coming to Medjugorje since June 1st.

From the bishop from Mostar Ratko Peric.
Doc number 358/2020.
Date 18.04.2020

It is an occasion to invite those, rare, spiritual leaders who preferred to listen to the advice of others rather than the instructions and recommendations of this Ordinary, to open the churches for the celebration of St. Masses with the people, that is, with the allowed number of souls. In front of the church, the number is not strictly limited. One only has to respect - and insist on - a distance of about 2 m.
