We aim to provide crochet information and a wide range of quality crochet books, hooks, threads and crochet supplies at an affordable price, not only to Australian crocheters, but to crocheters all over the world. We also stock a range of knitting, candlewicking, tatting and hardanger books and accessories. We run regular crochet classes to help you increase your skills, as well as learn how to cr

ochet. We ship to anywhere in Australia using Aramex Couriers or Australia Post. We are open for visits Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 3.00pm and the first Saturday of each month between 9.00am and 12.00pm. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of crochet, our range of items, and speed of delivery. All orders received before midday on a regular working day are shipped that day. If you can order an item on our website and we don't have it in stock, you'll get $10 towards your next order (same dye lots for all items exlcuded). Crochet Australia started with just Craft Moods and Paragon publications, some threads and a few hooks in early 2002 with Vicki and Ray Moodie. I then bought the business in 2014 when I decided that after 25 years of being an accountant, I needed a change. The business was then relocated to Yandina, in the Sunshine Coast, on the east coast of Australia in Queensland, just over an hour drive north of Brisbane. Finding the perfect yarn for your next project can be tricky, especially when the pattern calls for something that's not available in Australia.

There's more to choosing a substitute than just the number of balls! Fibre, meterage, colour, and dye lot can all affect your finished project, and we've seen many a project run short because the quantities weren't converted correctly. By then, the matching dye lot is often long gone!

That's where we come in! Pop into our Yandina store, bring your pattern, and chat it through with us 🧶 You can touch and feel the yarn, compare the colours properly, and make sure you have everything you need before you start.

We'd love to help you get it right from the start 💜

Exploring Crochet Techniques – Part 2: Broomstick Crochet

Our journey through the wonderful world of crochet techniques continues with Broomstick Crochet.

Named for the broom handle that was traditionally used to create its long loops, this beautiful technique combines crochet with a large knitting needle, dowel or broomstick to produce an airy, textured fabric with a distinctive lacy look.

Perfect for lightweight scarves, shawls, wraps and decorative accessories, broomstick crochet is a fun way to add texture and elegance to your handmade projects. It may look intricate, but once you learn the rhythm, it's a wonderfully relaxing technique to master.

Ready to give broomstick crochet a try? Explore our range of patterns, kits, yarns and accessories to help you discover this beautiful technique and start your next creative project.

Have you tried broomstick crochet before, or is it on your crochet bucket list? We'd love to hear your experience!

For each of these two patterns sold this month, all net proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Council to help fund life-saving cancer research.
