How often should you wash your hair?

The answer is... it depends!

One of the biggest myths I hear is that everyone should "train" their hair to wash it less often. The truth is, your scalp is as unique as your skin.

Your scalp naturally produces sebum (oil), which plays an important role in protecting your scalp and hair. Some people produce very little, while others (like me!) produce quite a lot.

For example, I need to wash my hair every 2–3 days. If I leave it any longer, my scalp becomes itchy, my roots become very oily, and my hair follicles actually feel tender when I move my hair. As soon as I wash it, my scalp feels fresh and comfortable again.

That doesn't mean everyone should wash every 2–3 days—it simply means my scalp is telling me what it needs.

💡 Instead of following someone else's routine, learn to listen to your own scalp.

Signs it might be time for a wash include: ✔️ Itchy scalp ✔️ Oily roots ✔️ Heavy product build-up ✔️ Tender or uncomfortable scalp ✔️ Hair separating into greasy strands
