Spring has sprung! Time for a pre summer tidy up of your Devon furniture.
Give the timber and chair covers a wash down with dishwashing liquid and water, use a soft brush to scub off any mildew or grease marks. Hose off with water, allow to dry. If the timber has turned a light grey then it will need to be sanded and re oiled.
The chair seat cover check the tension of the straps if loose, re-tention.
Check the screws are tight.
Check the footpads are intact.

Time to give your outdoor setting some TLC.

If the timber has changed colour then you need to sand it back to wood grain. After this has been done remove all dust before applying your recommended oil or stain. If the timber has lost its original colour, your oil or stain will need a tint. You may need to apply 2-3 coats depending on how dry the timber is. My rule is “it’s better to apply 3 thin coats rather than 1 thick” this will allow the oil to pe*****te.

Wash the covers with a good quality dishwashing liquid and water, use a SOFT bristle brush give then a light scrub then gurney off. (use the wide fan nozzle ) hang on line to dry
Re-attach the seat covers.with the hook and loop straps (very firm) no sagging in the seat cover. Do this step regularly to ensure maximum lifespan of your seat cover.

If it’s time for new covers, hook and loop straps, chair leg foot pads email us for a quote.

Now that its cooler, time to retention your seat straps, tighten the gold cap screws with an allen key, check the plastic foot pads at the bottom of the chair legs. give the timber a wash down and re-oil if necessary. If you setting has gone a silver grey contact us for instructions to bring this setting back to new. If you need replacement parts or fabric covers to reupholster we can assist.

Spring has sprung👍time to give the outdoor setting a clean ready for fun, family and outdoor dining.
Give your timber setting a wash down with Furniture wash. If the timber has greyed off you will need to give a light sand to bring the grain back up to the surface. Clean the sanding dust off., make sure the timber is completely dry, then apply a outdoor decking or furniture oil. you may need to apply ( with a cloth not a brush) a few coats to nourish the dried out timber. allow to dry overnight and it will be ready to go. then check that all of the screws on the chairs are tight. re-tension the hook and loop straps under the seat cover. if your covers have seen better days email us for a quote to replac. we source the best fabrics in the world to stand up to our harsh climate. we carry a great colour range of repkacement covers, hook and loop straps and footpads, just to name a few items.
