Based in Warrnambool (99 Kepler Street) Open Wed-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm (or by Appointment) and an outlet in Geelong (Mill Markets 114 Bellarine Hwy, Newcomb) Open 7 days a week. New vinyl in every week!

Hi All,

Long time no see. It’s almost a full year since we closed the Warrnambool shop.

Today we announce the complete closure of Prehistoric Sounds.

We have sold all our remaining stock to Wax Wizard Records who have taken over our stall at the Amazing Mill Markets in Geelong.

We wish Mick all the best for the future.

As for myself, life is good. I’m working doing NDIS support and just don’t have the time to give Prehistoric Sounds my full attention anymore. I feel after 16 and a half years the business has come to a natural conclusion.

Narelle and I would like to thank all of our customers over the years and suppliers both locally and internationally over the years.
It’s been a pleasure.

It seems to be a habit of mine of getting COVID at the most inconvenient times. Sadly I can't be a part of this year's event. But there will be 7 other sellers setting up tomorrow for the record fair.

It's been a real blast serving your record collecting needs for the past 15 plus years.

I've met some pretty amazing people over this time. They are much more than "customers", I can proudly call friends. So big thanks to Tamba, Del, Rob, Eddy, Josh, Mark, Tim, Matt, Morgs, Paul, Wade and many, many, more. I mean I wouldn't be in a band that tours around the country and overseas if it wasn't for the shop!

Also, thanks to my family for their support. Narelle's contribution behind the scenes has been huge, including the thousands of record sleeves she's counted over the years. When I went out on my own, she took over the admin and accounting roles and was largely unpaid in the early years. She even achieved a Diploma in Accounting during this time! And my kids who would do the rather boring role of cleaning records when I was a bit behind. A special mention to Daniel, who watched the shop for me in recent years.

Also thanks to my neighbours in Kepler Street. Shiraya Sushi, Birds & Fellas, James & Co and Jude!

The packing up and moving out has begun, and new stock will hit the Mill Markets tomorrow. The online store has been temporarily disabled while we sort stuff out.

Once again, a big thank you to all of our customers along the way. The last few weeks at the shop have been amazing. I hope the closure is only temporary, but I am prepared for it being a permanent one. Only time will tell.

I'll still be around, I'm not leaving town! So if you have a query, feel free to hit me up via DM or give me a call.

Today is the day! The last dance! We have opened the doors for the last time at 99 Kepler Street.

Thanks to everyone who has been in this past week. The racks are beginning to look rather empty! The 20% off sale has been a wonderful success and continues again today until we close at 2 pm. Online Shoppers use FINAL20 in the checkout.
