Big big day.

In no particular order;

Ugly cried in the shower because the to do list was overwhelming
Lost my wallet
Got rad hair by
Found my wallet
Actually managed 90 percent of the to do listof.me came and had a play with furniture and now the shop is actually resembling a shop.

Which is good, because we are officially opening in 2 days.

You can find us at The Quarters Forresters Beach, very conveniently nestled between rad hairdressers and delish coffee.

We'll be celebrating this Saturday 22nd, 9-2 - if you're a fan of pretty things and supporting local, I think you're going to enjoy yourself xx

We open our doors this Saturday 22nd, 9-2 at The Quarters Forresters Beach. I am already loving the vibe, it's chill, its friendly, and the cafe next door is a massive bonus.

Oh hey 👋

I'm Lisa, you can usually find me behind my sewing machine, or taking my dog Luna to the beach with a coffee. Maybe even spending time with my husband and two boys.

But very (very) soon, you'll find me at The Quarters at Forresters Beach, launching a brand new retail store named Love Local Central Coast.

Here you'll find pretty things, as unique as their makers, all local designers and artisans. Small brands with big heart.

One of those brands will be Lovebird Designs, which I've been working on since 2021, when I could no longer resist the urge to play with pretty fabrics, and began making bags and accessories with a floral boho vibe.

Through this journey I've met amazing people, warm people, creative people, brave people. Incredibly talented people.

And I also met so many people that were fed up with the same old same old on offer when trying to purchase a gift or maybe something fun for themselves. The same big box stores that have replaced the independent retailers. Online brands that promise one thing, then deliver poor quality, poor conditions for people and really poor outcomes for our planet. Purchases that benefit only the big ceos.

Well let's do something different. Let's support hand made over mass produced, slow made over fast fashion. Something sustainable and repurposed.

Let's support the real person behind the really pretty thing.

Because big things happen when you shop small.

What if I fall?
Oh my darling, what if you fly?

I am equal parts excited and terrified, but somehow that feels like I'm on the right track?

I am embarking on a new venture, a retail space exclusively for beautiful products handmade, and or designed right here on the Central Coast.

I am so grateful for the time I've had at Blue Bird Collective, and truly sad to see the doors closing at the end of this month. Thank you to Emily for welcoming Lovebird, and for taking the chance to hire me despite the fact I hadn't gotten around to redoing my resume since 2008.

It has been an incredible year, with very talented people, and lovely, lovely customers who have appreciated the chance to shop small and support local makers and the truly unique items in store that you just cant find anywhere else.

So here goes the leap into a new chapter. I am passionate about championing local small business makers, and I can't wait to open the doors to this unique shop small experience.

Our insta is and the story will continue to evolve there as we announce our venue very soon and open prior to Christmas.

It would mean the world if you could give us a follow and help us spread the word.

Final market prep underway for my first time at Norah Head Ocean View Markets on Saturday and I can't wait!

I'll be at site 18 along the waterfront, 9-2, come and say hi and enjoy some truly beautiful local makes, coffee and food!
