🌼 World Allergy Week runs from 21 to 27 June, with this year's theme "Allergy Care is Essential Care."

Around one in five Australians lives with an allergic condition, from hay fever and eczema to food allergies, asthma, insect stings and drug sensitivities. Symptoms range from mild seasonal nuisance through to conditions that genuinely shape daily life, including the risk of anaphylaxis at the more serious end.

Many people live with undiagnosed or poorly managed symptoms for years before getting clear answers. This week is a reminder that allergy care should be taken seriously.

If your symptoms are ongoing, or your current management plan isn't effective, your GP is a good place to start. A thorough assessment helps identify triggers, confirm a diagnosis, and where needed, open a referral pathway to an allergy specialist or clinical immunologist.
