As another chapter turns, I want to pause and say thank you - for your curiosity, your trust, and the quiet joy you bring every time you choose a book and step somewhere new.
There’s a small, almost-forgotten tradition from ancient Babylon worth carrying forward: during the Akitu festival, the new year wasn’t about fireworks or resolutions, but about resetting perspective. Kings symbolically laid aside their crowns, debts were forgiven, and the world was invited -briefly - to remember that the future could be written differently than the past. It was less “new year, new you,” and more “new year, clearer eyes.”
As 2026 opens its covers, I hope it grants you that same gift: the courage to reread your story from a kinder angle, to dog-ear the pages that matter, and to leave space for wonder where certainty once lived.
From Rimestock Books, may your shelves grow heavy, your nights grow quiet, and your year ahead be filled with pages that change you - sometimes gently, sometimes forever.
Happy New Year.
