🔎 Reviva Reuse Shop Mystery Item of the Week

Last week’s mystery item had a few of our followers guessing quickly 👀
It turned out to be vintage German sugar tongs, used to make Feuerzangenbowle, a traditional German drink.

A cone of sugar is placed on top, soaked in rum and set alight. As it burns, the caramelised sugar slowly melts into the drink below 🔥

Look at this transformation! From old louvre doors to a beautiful shoe box 💚♻️

Sally has transformed a second-hand find into something practical, stylish and full of character.

We think you’ve done a fantastic job, Sally! 👏💚

It’s a great reminder that reuse is about more than saving money, it’s about seeing the potential in items others might throw out and turning them into something useful again.

We love seeing projects like this that give pre-loved materials a second life.

🔎 Reviva Reuse Shop Mystery Item of the Week

Last week’s mystery had plenty of you guessing 💚♻️
Our most popular guess was an old ash tray, the kind you might have found in trains, buses or cars back in the day.
But the sea‑farers amongst us had another idea, identifying it as an old automatic bailer, used in dinghies to help keep the boat dry. A very important piece of equipment we would think!
Once again, we loved reading all your thoughts, memories and knowledge. Thank you for jumping in and playing along.

🔎 Reviva Reuse Shop Mystery Item of the Week

Last week’s mystery definitely had the community divided 💚♻️
Was it a hook for moving bales of hay or produce, a tool for lifting drain lids, or even a vintage boot pull that could date back as far as WW1?

After reading through all your thoughts, we’re leaning towards it being a boot pull. Many of you pointed out that a bale or produce hook is usually sharp at one end and the hook sits out from the handle, rather than being in line with it.
That said… a mystery is a mystery. Will we ever truly know? 🧐

Wow, this mystery solving is fun! Thanks to everyone who participated and shared their knowledge.

Now for this week’s mystery… 👀
What on earth could this metal contraption be used for?
