Our range of accessories and fly-fishing equipment is always expanding with new products and brands. Fishing for me began at an early age , on family holidays in the Summer on the Mid North Coast of NSW. During my teens, bait fishing turned into throwing lures which progressed into fishing the fly. Fly tying was the natural progression in my angling obsession. Dad manufactured my first tying vise,

my skills were rugged for a few years before being honed by a leader in the materials supply chain of the era, who, to this day is a supplier of top quality gear to the fly industry. I began tying commercially in 1986/87 for the local tackle stores in Western Sydney, focusing on freshwater patterns for the local species with a few custom flies for the larger salty predators around and off Sydney. Now specialising in a range flies for Australian Freshwater Natives and Light Saltwater Estuary game. All flies are tied using Tiemco,Gamakatsu or Mustad hooks along with world class modern materials supplied by industry leading brands. A real sense of satisfaction is achieved when hearing of clients stories and receiving pictures of their successful captures. Feel free to email your pics of captures using our flies to [email protected] for inclusion to the page or Website Gallery. Orders can be directed through our website, bwcflies.com.au and enquiry communications can be sent to [email protected] or via the Messenger function on the Social Media platforms.

Congratulations Peachy Fly Fishing Steve Peach!

I'm delighted (and a little relieved) to have passed my Casting Instructor (CI) test with FFI in Australia today! I've had some excellent instruction, learned a ton, and am very grateful to everyone who has helped me along with my casting, especially my good mate and Master Casting Instructor Wildfish aka Peter Morse who mentored me through this process, Brian Henderson for his fantastic additional coaching, and my wonderful examiners today Peter Henderson and Graeme Hird. Thanks so much guys for all your patience and generosity, I'm over the moon! :)

A rigged up Enforcer for some dredging and then we will change the flyline over to a flats specific 10wt for a trip to CXI. Boy, these take some 50lb backing.

A good start to the Bonefish boxes on a windy coastal day. Swell was up and opportunity for Pelagics diminished. Even managed to mow the lawn, something I really dislike doing on a Sunday.

Straight to the beach after work today for a Friday arvo ‘beach walk’ 10wts in hand and a new chartreuse surf candy that Brett tied up for me and I was ready for fun. The action was quiet, with little activity out wide and in close. I was chatting to a bait fisherman who said we needed to be there 2 hours ago 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just as he said that, a school of fish starting working right in close along the edge. I stripped my line off the reel, layed out a nice calm cast in front of the school and stripped the line with full control. I think it’s the first time I haven’t been frantic and rushed and it paid off. The candy got smashed by a fish and the line peeled away at a rapid rate. The outcome- a Mac Tuna 🙌🙌🙌 .bwcflies

Another day chasing pelagics on the beaches of NSW, wrapping up the long weekend with .bwcflies

I put the C-Salt 10wt through its paces, and I'm impressed. Paired with a heavy grain 9wt Intermediate line, it loaded smoothly and unloaded with ease. I've officially converted to 10wts for beach fishing - they're more manageable than I thought.

Focused on composure during each session, allowing the rod to do the heavy lifting but the familiar ‘pelagic panic’ crept in - there’s still room for personal improvement here to become a better angler in those intense | high activity moments.
