Anko brand KMart fake leather bound journals are a great to engrave. Only a couple of colours. Custom orders for Christmas accepted up until 29th December. $10.00 to engrave if you supply the journal. $15.00 if I supply.

People often ask me how durable laser engraving can be and the answer ranges from not very to it will outlast me by 100 years. In this case it's a 300mm x 600mm Ceramic floor tile engraved with the Ode to War Animals and has been in situ at Thuringowa RSL grounds for 2 years without any signs of fading or deterioration. 60w co2 laser, engraved with flood fill, total time to engrave was 2 hours 25 minutes.

Today's fun little project is making book marks from 2mm thick EVA foam. 60w co2 laser is a bit of overkill for this project but it does the job nicely with very little smoke, no charring and crisp cuts. These in various colours will be available from our market stall.

Trying a new material. Tasmanian Oak flooring panels. It's basically very thick 3 ply plywood with a nice laminated face on it. Sanded back, engraved and then finished in quick dry shellac to make it stand out.
