Tathra Beach! Tathra Beach is regarded as one of the safest beaches on the Sapphire Coast, stretching 3km from the Surf Club at the Southern end to Mogareeka Inlet & Fords Headland to the North. The beach is patrolled in summer by Professional guards and Tathra Surf Life Saving Club, one of the oldest clubs in Australia, operating for over 100years. Tathra Beach is the only beach on the Sapphire Coast Patrolled 7 days a week during February. The generous support and funding of local business's and council made this possible. This has extended our safe Summer holiday season. You can beat the crowds while still swimming safely between the flags. Just off the beach is a fantastic children's playground, skate park, BBQ and picnic facilities. Ride perfectly flowing trails that meet the sea! Hidden in spectacular coastal bush, Tathra is home to over 50kms of sweet, smooth, flowing single track & is a must ride location for Mountain bikers. The Bundadung & Finished loops have been hand built & expertly maintained by passionate locals & offer a range of graded trails to suit all riders. Endless fire trails exist within Mimosa Rocks National Park, taking the leisurely rider to discover scenic coastal spots. No other oysters in NSW are grown in such pristine wilderness as Tathra Oysters! Tathra is home to Australia's most highly awarded oysters. Grown on Nelsons Lake, surrounded by Mimosa Rocks National Park, Tathra Oysters have a clarity of flavour that is unique & sought after by Australia's top chefs. the local family business has won over 130 awards, for quality & sustainability. Visitors can call into Tathra Oyster shop & select fresh, opened or unopened oysters. Tathra Wharf is one of a kind! Tathra Wharf is the only open sea wharf remaining on the NSW coast. Tathra fishing & boating
Mogareeka Inlet is the mouth of the Bega River, this is where you can launch your canoe, tinny or SUP to explore the upper reaches of the river, catch a flathead, watch the sea eagles & see the native orchids along the cliffs. Then come back at night to catch a feed of prawns. Kianninny Bay has an excellent ocean launching ramp for deep sea fishing. It also has boat washing, fish cleaning & picninc facilities. Kianniny is home to the Tathra Fishing Club, who always welcome visitors. There are many other deserted beaches & pristine estuaries to go fishing; Tathra Wharf is a great spot too. Stay a While! The beautiful township of Tathra and its surrounds offers so much to see and do, you will want to stay while! Tathra has over 10 properties, offering a diverse range of accommodation options to suit all budgets in beach, bush or country settings.

Sunset light doing what it does best at Tathra Wharf ✨

Shot on the DJI Mavic 4 Pro using the x2.5 zoom lens, which compresses the scene and pulls the towering convective cloud closer to the wharf, creating a far more dramatic feel than a wide-angle aerial.

For a few brief moments, the setting sun ignited the top of the cloud while the coastline below slipped into shadow.
