Day 34 – Part 2: Harrods 🇬🇧✨
After a delicious brunch, it was time to walk it off with a visit to Harrods — because no London NYE is complete without it 💚
The architecture alone is breathtaking, inside and out, making it feel more like a palace than a department store.
A little history moment ✨
Founded in 1849, Harrods began as a small grocery store and has since become one of the most famous luxury department stores in the world. With over 300 departments, iconic green bags, and its legendary motto “Omnia Omnibus Ubique” (All Things for All People, Everywhere), it’s truly a London institution.
We stopped in for a Harrods beer — because why not? It is New Year’s Eve after all 🍺🥂
Then it was straight to the Christmas & gift section… absolute woohoo territory 🎄🎁✨
With a couple of iconic green goody bags in hand, it was time to head back to the hotel to get ready for the big NYE event tonight 💃🥂
London, you really know how to do New Year’s Eve ✨

Day 34: London NYE 🇬🇧🩷
Some moments deserve a post all of their own — and New Year’s brunch at Peggy Porschen Belgravia was absolutely magical 💐✨
From the iconic pink florals to the fairytale interiors, every detail felt straight out of a dream.
We enjoyed the most perfect morning tea brunch ☕🍰
Think mini eggs Benedict, mini avocado & smoked salmon on toast, followed by the prettiest mini cakes, pastries, and sweet treats — and so much more 💖
Every bite was as beautiful as it was delicious.
A little about Peggy Porschen:
Founded by renowned pastry chef Peggy Porschen, this Belgravia favourite is famous for its handcrafted cakes, seasonal floral displays, and elegant tea experiences. It’s not just brunch — it’s an experience 🌸✨
London really knew how to begin NYE in style 🥂🎀

Day 26 – Part 2: Musée d’Orsay 💛🎨
A truly dream-fulfilled visit to the breathtaking Musée d’Orsay. This beautiful museum was once a grand railway station, built for the 1900 World’s Fair, and today it houses some of the world’s most celebrated masterpieces 🚆➡️🖼️
I feel so incredibly lucky to have stood face to face with works by Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, and so many other iconic artists. The Impressionist collection here is simply unforgettable ✨🎨
My poor husband patiently waited while I soaked it all in (hours later 😅), but he kept his sense of humour. When it came time for a photo in front of the iconic Orsay clock, he’d clearly been observing many visitors strike 101 different poses over the past five weeks… so he decided to have a go himself 😂🕰️ His dramatic posing had people around us laughing, making the moment even more special.
Art, history, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime 💛

Day 25: Exploring Montmartre 🤍
We started our day wandering down Rue de l’Abreuvoir 🏘️—one of the prettiest cobblestone streets in Montmartre. From Place Dalida 🎶 to the iconic La Maison Rose 🌸, every corner felt like a postcard with stunning views along the way.
Next stop was Galerie Butte Montmartre 🎨 where I couldn’t resist a few handmade pottery Christmas treasures 🎄✨. Then we strolled the streets watching artists at work, stopping for a few délices along the way 🥐☕️.
We made our way to The Wall of I Love You 💙—sadly under repair, so we admired it from a distance, but still such a special spot filled with romance 💕.
Walking past the legendary Moulin Rouge 💃 we continued on to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann 🛍️. The Christmas displays, the breathtaking glass dome, and Paris views were incredible—even if it was beyond crowded! We still managed a photo 📷 before escaping for coffee and cake 🍰☕️.
Montmartre has officially been renamed “the stairway of places” 😅—so many steps, we’ve walked our croissants off! 🥐👟 Huge thanks to Laurie for the Île-de-France cards 🙌 which saved us an extra climb and let us take the funicular 🚡.
What a day 🤍

🌧️✨ Day 24 in Paris 🇫🇷
Even the rainy weather can't take away the magic of this city! 🌧️💖 Took a walk through the rain to catch the funicular up to Montmartre, where the stunning Basilique du Sacré-Cœur awaited us. ⛪️❤️ Took shelter from the rain, soaking in the beauty of the view. 🏙️🌈
After, we hopped on the iconic mini train 🚂💨 to explore Montmartre a bit more, learning about its rich history despite being a little wet & cold. ❄️ But nothing can dampen our spirits when we’re in PARIS! ✨🎉

Day 23 – Cologne | Part 3 🎄🍷
This was the market 🎄✨
After a little research, we headed to the Nikolausdorf (St. Nikolas Village) Christmas Market at Rudolfplatz, home of the famous boot-shaped mug 👢🍷 — and yes, the 2025 Cologne Christmas Market boot mug did not disappoint!
Finding it meant only one thing… Glühwein had to be enjoyed 😉🍷
The market was incredibly festive but very crowded, buzzing with energy, twinkling lights and cozy stalls filled with delicious treats. A true Christmas market experience ❤️

Day 23 – Cologne | Part 2 🎄🚢
A truly magical afternoon on a festive winter cruise along the Rhine River 🎄🚢✨
Romantic winter vibes, festive Christmas music and stunning views of Cologne’s skyline from the panorama boat — all beautifully decorated for the holiday season.
We cruised past iconic sights like Groß St. Martin, the former Rheinau Harbour with the crane houses, and of course the unforgettable Cologne Cathedral ⛪✨
I sipped on my new favourite drink, Lillette Berry 🍓🍷, while festive music played and the city drifted by — such a relaxing and cozy way to spend a winter afternoon ❤️ If that didn’t get you in the Christmas spirit nothing will 🎄🎅🎄

Day 23 – Cologne | Part 1 🥐🚌
Coffee and croissants to start the day ☕🥐 — the perfect fuel before heading out to explore Cologne. We jumped on the hop-on hop-off bus to get our bearings and take in the city from a different perspective 🚌✨
A relaxed start, great views and plenty of festive touches along the way 🎄🏙️ — the best way to ease into a new city before exploring further on foot.
☕🚌

Day 22 – Cologne (Part 2) 🎄✨
We jumped on the Bimmelbahn Christmas train and toured Cologne’s magical Christmas markets — each one completely different and full of festive charm.
⛪ Cologne Cathedral Christmas Market (Dommarkt) was breathtaking, set beneath the iconic cathedral with twinkling lights and a truly traditional Christmas atmosphere.
😇 Angel’s Christmas Market at Neumarkt felt elegant and calm, glowing with white lights, angels, and a peaceful festive vibe.
🎡 Harbour Christmas Market at the Chocolate Museum (Hafen-Weihnachtsmarkt) was a highlight by the Rhine — maritime themed, cosy stalls… and yes, I braved the Ferris wheel 😅 Not my favourite thing in the world, but I survived!
🎄 Heinzels Wintermärchen at Alter Markt & Heumarkt was like stepping into a Christmas fairytale, full of traditional stalls, lights, and classic festive cheer.
Cologne at Christmas really is something special ❤️

Day 22- Cologne
✨ There’s something magical about sitting in the heart of history... We’ve just arrived in Cologne, and the sheer size and beauty of the Cologne Cathedral are absolutely breathtaking. 😍 Standing tall for over 750 years, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history as you take in the intricate details and awe-inspiring architecture. From the grand spires reaching toward the sky to the stunning stained glass windows that bathe the cathedral in light, every corner tells a story🌈
Feeling so lucky to be staying right next to the cathedral—waking up to this view every morning is beyond surreal. 🌟 Spent some quiet moments in the church, just taking it all in. The peace and serenity here are like nothing else. 🙏
Forever in awe of how beauty, history, and spirituality collide in such a magnificent way.

Day 2 | Part 2 – Nuremberg 🤍
Another city, another hop-on hop-off bus adventure 🚌✨
We’ve honestly fallen in love with these buses — the perfect way to learn a little history, take it all in, and then return to the places that steal our hearts.
Nuremberg did not disappoint. Every old town we’ve stayed in so far has been pure old-world magic ✨ If we hadn’t used the bus today, we wouldn’t have seen half of what we did — and still had time to revisit our favourite little spot for a drink and a bite to eat 🍷
Pork shoulder so tender it fell off the bone, eaten with a spoon… absolute perfection 🤍
After quite a few drinks 😉 we ventured back out into a slightly cooler afternoon — brrrr ❄️ — for some Christmas market wandering 🎄✨ and visits to two breathtaking churches: St. Sebald and St. Lorenz. Both spectacular, with magnificent architecture and stunning stained-glass windows that truly stop you in your tracks 🕯️⛪️
Back outdoors once more, the sun slowly disappearing, we enjoyed one last wander before picking up some antipasto goodies from the markets to enjoy back home 🧀🥖
A perfect ending to a beautiful Nuremberg day 🤍✨
