Trying to do what you love, especially something meaningful, is hard.

Trying to do that same thing with disabilities is harder.

Finding out that the very social media you use has decided to restrict your content and you have no recourse to challenge the decision (yes, despite there being no violations to show!) is basically a death sentence for creators that rely on social media reach because they can't make it to physical events.

I'm recovering from a major operation with a serious post-op complication. It has me out of action until the end of February, at least. I don't know what this means for the future of Pastel Poisons, especially if social media keeps getting further restricted. My website doesn't make enough sales to cover the monthly hosting fees, and I rely entirely on word-of-mouth and people sharing my work on social media to drum up any sales I DO get.

But hey, at least I now have the option to generate AI photos through the page, right? 🫤

Well, the day has finally come!

Some of you may know that I've had long-term struggles with health that have left me absent from both the Sydney and Newcastle scenes far longer than I would like. I've been waiting literal years for surgical intervention, and between covid, medical prejudice, and s**t outside my control, things just kept getting pushed back while my health got worse.

Due to a stroke of incredible luck, I've secured a surgical date at the end of November that will go a long way to addressing a bunch of my problems. The only issue? It's a LOT of money, and I don't have a lot of time to do it.

So what does one do when they're between a rock and a hard place? Have a god damned sale, is what!

Some of you lucky duckies saw my gorgeous gear at the Kinky Skills and Chills last night, didn't you? I know I shouldn't kiss and tell, but...

You were absolutely right! Markets and events lately have been a bit of a logistics nightmare for me, as many of you would have noticed. Because I have a slacker immune system and a body made of duct tape and hot pockets, I've had to be VERY careful to avoid the Spicy Cough. This means keeping a close eye on numbers, locations and attendance, and unfortunately pulling out (heh) when the risk is too great.

Thanks to the efforts of one very special bean, we may have found a solution! Last night, the ethereal visage of sensuality you saw working my stall went the extra mile to make sure my stuff was there. I am absolutely blown away by the efforts she put in to make last night happen, and the incredible and kind words I've gotten from so many of you today who missed my mug at the event.

Depending on how things go, this may be an option going forward - having folks lend a hand at events so you can fo**le ALL my goodies again. At least until I can sass you all up in person! But for those of you who are like me (and I know there are a great many of us), my gear is always available online at www.pastelpoisons.com

Having your support during the last few years has meant the world to me as Pastel Poisons is something I do for fun, and because I believe in what I do here. I'm just one smol disabled goblin trying to fight god here. Everything you see, I make by hand without help, and the fact that you've been so passionate about supporting me, sharing my work, talking about me online and building me up has meant more to me than I can put into words. Thank you.

Just when you think nothing bad can come after Hump Day!

Most of you are probably aware by now that I struggle long-term with autoimmune issues thanks to my body being a crumbling temple of doom, and so getting sick can have major life-threatening consequences, or impact me months into the future.

Unfortunately the Covid situation has kept me guessing as numbers rise and fall, and I have to weigh up the risks for each event I attend. This includes attendance numbers, locations, my own present condition and a whole bunch of other factors I won't go into. The situation can also change rapidly, and that's where I'm finding myself right now as we see a spike in numbers in my surrounding community.

Your favourite neighbourhood goblin won't be able to attend the NKB markets this weekend as previously mentioned, and I'm going to miss you all dearly. The last few years of having to self-isolate because of my risk have meant I have missed out on so many events because of the pandemic, and I mean it when I say that it sucks really, really hard.

What this means is that the event is still going ahead, and you'll be able to see amazing folks like and , so make use of that ticket if you have one. I'll also be uploading new products over the next week, so you won't have to miss out on all that sugar-coated goodness!

My beautiful besties, beasties and baes, the time has come for shenanigans to be afoot once more!

🌈That's right, I'm doing a market again! 🌈

It's been way too long since I've seen your gorgeous faces! There will be performances on the night, good food and drink and so many other magnificent stallholders! I'll also have some more of my adorable plushies with me on the night, looking for their forever-home.

My beautiful little beasties!

Your resident goblin mother is taking some well-deserved rest after some scheduled surgery earlier this week. I'm doing lots of sleeping and playing some video games when I'm up, and just taking things very gently at the moment.

Any orders placed over the next week will be delayed a little in getting to the post, as I'm presently a little ball of ouchie, swearing and pain meds. I'm petty dang excited about getting back on my feet as I have some delicious tricks up my sleeves for you all once I'm back in action.
