Last Saturday, Team VSP took on the Sydney 300 – a demanding 300km endurance race (77 laps) under lights, with a highly competitive field of 50 starters.
After a strong qualifying session from Tom Shaw Racing, the VSP/Vivotek M4 lined up 12th outright and 3rd in class. The race started positively, with the car quickly settling into 3rd position outright within the opening laps.
A smooth first pit stop saw Tom rejoin the field and charge through the pack, climbing as high as 7th position and putting us firmly in contention for a podium finish – and potentially even the outright win.
Unfortunately, shortly after the second pit stop, a split turbo intercooler significantly reduced engine performance, forcing the VSP/Vivotek M4 to nurse its way to the finish.
While 9th outright was not the result we were chasing, endurance racing is all about overcoming challenges, and we're proud of the team's effort, determination, and performance throughout the event.
