Built my first valve amplifier based off the Fender Champ Tweed 5F1 circuit. Was a fabulous learning experience and helped hone my soldering skills as well as appreciation for electrical safety given the capacitors store several hundred volts when full charged! A good snuffer stick, multimeter and constant diligence kept me safe throughout the process.

Most tricky part was working through the tube sockets, any messy or dry solder joints will set you back many hours.

Now I have a great little practice amp for the studio and it will come in handy testing all of the guitar work on hand!

At Fine Frets we are always looking to push the boundaries and improve every aspect of the guitar's performance. Today I am upgrading a 30yr old strat with some Graph Tech String Saver Saddles. Looking forward to seeing how they increase string life and tuning stability. Next step is to install the locking tuners.

Finished another job to install a Seymour Duncan SH-1N '59 Model Nickel Neck humbucker into a 60th Anniversary American Tele. Also put in a 500k pot and resister to make sure the humbucker and single coil play nicely together.

You can also see the frets needed some TLC so did fret dress to improve overall tone. Fun job to improve what's an already great sounding axe!

Just worked on a Korean acoustic which had never been adjusted before and was effectively factory specifications. The action was very high, 3.75mm at the 12th fret & sanded the saddle down to 2.75mm now the guitar plays like a dream and sounds great.

Customer is delighted and another reason to get your guitars setup for optimal playability and enjoyment!

Bought this beautiful 60th Anniversay USA Tele on Tuesday, it's practically in mint condition and apart from fret dress and minor setup it's a stunning axe. I am going to upgrade this to the Albert Collins Fender Custom specs so I can sound like the Iceman as much as possible! I now have a backlog of jobs so will post update when I can, very excited about this project!

Beatiful vintage 1968 SA50 Yamaha guitar requiring full restoration. Initial inspection shows truss rod in good condition and action can be adjusted nicely. Will require new frets, bridge screws, electronics and cleaning - big job ahead but it will be a cracker!
