I remember back in the 2010s on Tumblr there was this image reposted millions of times of a New York girly in a vintage patchwork fur coat. It had such a hold on me I’ve been hunting similar coats ever since. The coat had a presence. It took me 15 years but I think it is one of the most remarkable finds of my life. Sourced from Japan. I love that it’s such a generous size it could easily be unisex. This is the coat of my dreams and I’m passing it on. Available online in the ART SCHOOL collection.

I was already planning the ART SCHOOL collection when I came into this mystery mohair windfall, such good fortune! As far as I can tell they are eastern European in origin, handknit with the highest quality, softest mohair imaginable. Super dramatic sleeves and oversized bodies, most will suit up to XXL. Really fun to style and incredibly warm. I have a few but every one is one of a kind. A couple more colours coming this Wednesday in ART SCHOOL PT II.
